7 September (Sunday)

2:00 - 4:00 pm SMSG Church band play at Calverton Fete All Saints Church, Calverton (for Calverton Church Restoration fund)

13 September (Saturday)

10:00 am - 3:30 pm Heritage Open Day: Come to see the Willis Pipe organ restoration work in progress, an exhibition of its history as we discover more in our research, help fill in the history timeline and enjoy delicious cakes, tea and coffee.

  • You can look INSIDE the Willis pipe organ and talk to the organ builders to find out about the progress with its restoration and how it works.
  • You can do the pipe organ quiz with the chance to win a small prize.
  • You can help us fill in the local and organ history timeline and find out about the history research we've done so far.
  • You can sponsor a pipe in the organ to help replace the missing pipes.
  • You can watch a short video Dan the Magic Musician about the Pipe Organ and colour in pictures from the video or draw a picture of the pipe organ.

This event is part of Heritage Open Days.

11 October (Saturday)

10:00 am - 12 noon Musical Bite Coffee morning for the Organ Fund. An informal coffee morning with a musical flavour – which will be music provided by children from local schools.

16 October (Thursday)

12:30 - 1:15 pm Third Thursday at Twelve-Thirty A new series of Lunchtime Concerts aim to be relaxed 'drop-in' musical treats for those living and working in and around Stony Stratford. Hot and cold drinks, biscuits and small cakes are available, but everyone is very welcome to bring their sandwiches and enjoy some fun music while eating. These concerts will include items featuring young musicians as part of the programme and we welcome all ages to come and listen.

This concert is for the Organ Fund.

19 October (Sunday)

3:00 pm Autumn Concert for the Organ Fund.

25 October (Saturday)

7:30 pm Sunshine and Shadows - British Composers and the Great War

Jack Cornwell (Tenor)
Ed Tomlinson (Piano)
Clare Turner (Soprano)
Simon Woodhead (Baritone)
and Quartet Camerata

present a concert of song and chamber music commemorating the First World War including music by Vaughan Williams, Holst, Ireland, Butterworth and Gurney.

This recital is associated with a series of four lectures on the arts at the time of the First World War, taking place in Stony Stratford Library. The fourth talk will be about music, given by Bill Prescott on Wednesday 22 October at 7:00 pm.

Recital entry £7 (£5 concessions, accompanied under 16s £1) with proceeds going to The Royal British Legion.

20 November (Thursday)

22 November (Saturday)

10:00 am - 5:00 pm Come and Sing Choral Day - Selections from Handel's Messiah conducted by James Wharton, accompanied by Ed Tomlinson.

Singers from 9:30 am for a 10:00 am start.
Performance 4:15 pm

For details of how to book your singing place see the Messiah Choral Day page. Last year we welcomed 160 singers and filled the nave. This year we have a purpose built high conductor's podium so all singers will be able to see James.

29 November (Saturday)

10:00 am - 6:00 pm SMSG Christmas Fayre (for church restoration fund) including Golden Spot Tombola for the Organ Fund. Details tbc.

13 December (Saturday)

10:00 am - 12 noon Musical Bite Coffee morning for the Organ Fund. Sing-along-alorra-songs with Dave King on the ivories and words to all the popular tunes displayed on the screen – in the Parish Hall. You’ll go home humming the tunes. Refreshments – mostly Fairtrade

13 December (Saturday)

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Milton Keynes Youth Choir and Youth Chorale Youth Chorale presents its annual Christmas Concert which will be a celebration of festive music, including a selection of wonderful choral pieces as well as a few old favourites and maybe a little audience participation to add to that festive feel – not to be missed! We hope that we will also be joined by another musical youth group as guests. The Christmas concert is a huge fund raiser for the Youth Choir as we are entirely self funded and a registered Charity. We are also delighted on this occasion to support SMSG's Pipe Organ with all money raised on the refreshments going to the appeal.

This concert is raising funds for the choir and for the Organ Fund.
