We are delighted to welcome the Open
University Choir and Quorum to St Mary & St Giles
Church for their Spring 2010 concert.
24th April 2010 (Saturday)
7.30 pm, St Mary &
St Giles Church, Stony Stratford
The Open University Choir
joined by
Quorum
The OU choir and Quorum
are visiting our church to take advantage of the favourable
acoustic and to help the Organ Fund. The content of
the concert will also celebrate the history
of our Willis Organ, as music by William Bowie,
who was organist on the instrument when it was at St
George's Church, Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, will be
included in the programme.
The programme includes
music by Bach, Blitheman, Bowie, Britten, Gabrielli,
Kuhnau and Schutz
The choir will be making
use of the galleries to sing the 12 part Magnificat
by Andrea Gabrielli and Psalm 100 by Heinrich Schutz.
