7.30 pm, St Mary &
St Giles Church, Stony Stratford
This concert included
the Parish Singers
from St Mary & St Giles Church, Quorum,
Andante, and The Orphean Singers.
All singers performed 'Chorus
of the Hebrew Slaves' by Verdi and 'Easter
Hymn' from Cavaliera Rusticana by Mascagni.
The Parish Singers and Quorum performed 'Misere
mei' by Gregorio Allegri.

The Orphean Singers (directed
by Kath Hindley)
Quorum (directed by Toby Hill)
A sequence of music for
Holy Week and Easter composed by Tomas Luis de Victoria
and Thomas Tallis. 2011 is the 400th anniversary of
Victoria's death and Quorum sang a selection of pieces
from the Tenebrae Responsories sung during Holy Week
finishing with Tallis's 'Christ Rising Again'

accompanied by Ed Tomlinson)
A Karl Jenkins Suite
- 3 short pieces: Catilena, Palladio (solo piano) and
Adiemus

The Willis Console was
being refurbished and was not ready for the Gala Concert.
James Westlake (flute) accompanied
by Ed Tomlinson (piano) will play 'Annie's Song'
